Allison Kares, NCPT
Director, Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher
As a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher and working as an exercise therapist in the rehab industry for 12 years, I have always been curious about efficient and effective movement. This passion has lead me to develop a unique, comprehensive, evidence-based program that will provide you with maximal results. I’m excited to meet with you and help you design a program that will work to help you achieve your ultimate movement potential.
Young or mature, fit or injured, we have a program that will improve how you move!

Lori Mann, NCPT
Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher
Pilates is the best career choice I’ve made in my life. I signed up for the Allison Kares Education/Pilates Teacher Training program in 2019, after practicing Pilates at her studio for a few years. I knew how much I needed to maintain and build my strength as I “matured”. My career path always led me to work closely with people and help them feel there best. Pilates promotes staying fit and allows us to continue our love for activities and the demands of our sports. I feel it’s allowed me to continue riding my horse and my bike and having the confidence to try anything new that makes life interesting.

Kesha Colautti
Pilates Teacher, Yoga Teacher, Meditation Instructor
Kesha is a certified yoga, Pilates, and meditation teacher with a deep-rooted connection to movement and mindfulness. Growing up in India, she was introduced to yoga as a child through her school curriculum, observing her mother’s daily practice and later learning Yoga through Ashram in India. Her passion for holistic wellness led her to pursue a degree in Bachelors of pharmacy, where she explored anatomy, herbal medicine, and Ayurveda.
Seeking a deeper understanding of biomechanics, Kesha later pursued Pilates teacher training, which enriched her approach to movement and alignment. Her classes blend the mindfulness of yoga with the precision of Pilates, creating a practice that is both soulful and intelligently structured. Rooted in mindful traditions, her teaching encourages self-inquiry, conscious movement, and a joyful connection to the body and breath.

Sally MacDonell
Pilates Teacher, Older Adult Specialist
Teaching is my passion and my love of fitness transformed into the vehicle to help people improve their health and wellness. Having taught for over 20 years, I have become fascinated and truly inspired by the small increments in progress that I see clients making, one cell of their body at a time. Breaking down each movement to meet each client’s needs allows me to see the look of accomplishment in their eyes and the smiles on their faces as we progress to each new level. Fun and fitness go hand in hand. I strive to include activation of the laughing muscles as a key to success.

Anne Poortinga
Pilates Teacher, TRX, Barre
Anne believes that living an active lifestyle is one of the key secrets to promoting health, vitality, and longevity. Anne started her fitness journey over 30 years ago and is a CanFitPro Fitness Instructor Specialist, CanFitPro Personal Trainer, and TRX instructor. In fact, Allison and Anne met each other teaching fitness classes at G&M Fitness in Port Colborne back in the 90’s.
As a retired high school teacher, Anne believes that learning is a lifelong process. She is continuing her fitness education by learning Pilates and Booty Barre. Anne is passionate about motivating her students in a fun, creative, and safe environment.

Rebecca Swick
Yoga Teacher
My journey with yoga began at a young age. Originally it was the physical poses that brought me to my mat, but I soon felt the gentle shifts yoga could create in my life off my mat. My practice has challenged me to focus on the present moment, grow stronger, calmer, and more self-aware and become in tune with the connection between the body, the brain, and the mind. I am passionate about living holistically. I use my background as an Occupational Therapist with the soulful, spiritual, and mindful aspects of yoga to encourage others to feel happy and healthy in their lives.

Meet Our Practitioners

Karen Gemmel
Yoga Teacher
I began practicing yoga in January of 1996. In the fall of 2003, I completed, with Honor of Distinction, an intensive 500-hour teacher training program at the Yoga Centre of Burlington, a recognized Yoga Alliance training facility. I continue to deepen my knowledge of the practice by attending workshops and classes led by senior teachers. I practice and teach a traditional style of yoga which utilizes props for modification to make poses accessible to students of all ages and abilities. Yoga props are used to support the body in restorative poses, and assist you to move into a posture you may not yet be flexible enough to manage on your own.
